Born and raised in Metro Detroit, Coumon designer Julie Robinson currently resides in New York City where she is studying fashion design at Parsons School of Design. Julie uses vintage kimono silk to create limited edition necklaces, headbands, and broaches. The name Coumon (pronounced common) is an acronym which stands for Center Of the Universe Middle Of Nowhere and describes the feeling of loneliness that often comes from starting over in a big city.
